Antelope Valley Union High School District

Superintendent's Message

I'd like to send my thanks to all our AVUHSD faculty and staff. Your dedication makes miracles happen daily in the classrooms and your gift to the United Way can make miracles happen off-campus.
Over 7000 homeless in the Antelope Valley is an alarming number.  Our children shouldn’t have to ask themselves: “Where will I sleep tonight and will I be safe?”  Kids should have better, right?  Making plans for themselves, for family and friends, graduating high school and having dreams of future accomplishments, and more.  Meet Brian in the picture below. He is a real person.
No one tells themselves: “I want to be homeless when I grow-up”. Your donation to the United Way may help some of our very own students and their families. A hot meal, a place to stay for more than a night, and somewhere to sit and study can make a big difference in a student's life.  All students are guaranteed access to schooling!
Tax-deductible donations can be made automatically via payroll deduction and over ten months. Please submit your form to Chris Jarrett in the Personnel Department or please call should you have any questions, 661-948-7655 ext 247.
Thank you for taking a moment to review materials from the United Way of the Antelope Valley. I am very proud to be a part of the AVUHSD family, and proud to support the United Way!   Are YOU in ?
