DEWEY DECIMAL SYSTEM     Melvil Dewey (1851-1931) was the librarian, educator, and creator of the Dewey Decimal Classification System. This is a system in which all recorded knowledge is divided into 10 major classes, 000 through 999. These classes are further divided into subcategories for easy reference and access.
