BUBL Dewey Subject Catalog: If you are looking for information from outside the U.S., try the BUBL catalog from Great Britain. All items are selected, evaluated, catalogued and described. It claims to have over 1,200 subject terms, a minimum of five relevant resources per subject, and one-half of the links are from the United Kingdom or elsewhere outside of the U.S.
Chico High School Helpful bookmarks: The librarian at this high school has created a page of helpful links for students. Some of the links are also on this site, but many more may be useful for your assignments.
EDSITEment: This site includes online learning guides and a hotlist of links to top humanities sites. The learning guides include lesson plans in history and social studies, English and language arts, foreign languages, and art history.
FREE (Federal Resources for Educational Excellence): This leads to the subject list of sites made available through President Clinton's request to Federal Agencies to make their resorces available online. Included are lists of sites for Arts, Educational Technology, Foreign Languages, Health, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and more.

Internet Scout Report: This is a carefully selected, organized, and annotated collection of Web information resources. It contains over 8,500 evaluated resources for a broad range of users. However, many of the links are suitable for K-12 schools.
Knowledge Network Explorer: This is the official website of the Pacific Bell initiative, Education First. This is the premier site list for education and the one that was used as a primary resource in compiling valuable Internet Sites. Choose the Wired Learning in the Classroom and Library icon to enter the subject lists of award winning sites called Blue Web'n.
Lesson Plan Resources: This is a giant list of Web sites where teachers can find lesson plans that is organized by the name of the site.
SCORE: Connecting California's Classrooms to the World: SCORE selects and organizes direct links to many subject matter sites which offer many resources, lessons, activities and teaching units. Choose from links to Computers, Health, History, Language Arts, Mathematics, Music, News, Science, Special Ed, and more.
SIRS Web Guide: This list of sites uses the same subject headings as the SIRS database that you use in the library for magazine and newspaper aritcles. Those subjects are AIDS, alcohol, atmosphere, communication, consumerism, corrections, crime, death and dying, defense, drugs, energy, ethics, ethnic groups, family, food, habitat, health, human rights, mental health, money, pollution, population, privacy, religion, school, sexuality, sports, technology, third world, transportation, women, work, and youth.

Voice of the Shuttle: This large hotlist includes general humanities resources, anthropology, archaeology, art, classical studies, history, law, literature, minority studies, philosophy, photography, politics and government, science, technology, and more.
The WWW Virtual Library: This is recognized by some web users as among the highest quality guides. Because of its world-side scope, resources can be found here which do not appear in other lists or portals.
