Cable in the Classroom

- Use this site to download teacher's guides of videoprograms.
Includes lesson plans, sections on History, Science, Technology, Arts, and a TeacherSource.

TNT
- Information about Turner original motion pictures, such as Animal Farm
is available. Click on the name of the movie to go to a biography of George Orwell and more.

A&E Biography
- A&E's Biography site includes a searchable and browsable
online collection of 15,000 cross-referenced biographies from
the Cambridge Biographical Encyclopedia. Also included are
selected opening chapters and reviews from best selling
biographies, a quizz, and schedules of upcoming episodes of
the Biography television program.

Discovery Channel
- School resources from the Discovery Channel. Includes lesson
plans for every Assignment Discovery television program that
is available for taping and inclusion in your school library
collection grouped by Science, Humanities, and Social Studies.
Each lesson has Vocabulary, Study Questions, Activities, and
Related Resources which includes links to other sites. There
is also a calendar of upcoming TV programs organized by
subject areas that shows broadcast dates and times.

programs. Included is a section for teachers.

- This site offers weather information including forecasts,
information about meteorology, severe weather safety tips, and
more.

- This site offers lesson plans for the program, "The New Edge" or click on home to
see what's new on the Sci-Fi Channel.

The History Channel Website
- Here's a nice Website for accessing reliable, primary source
historical documentation. The archives are especially useful
for speeches. Also take a look at the "This Day in History"
section and the program listings.
