Within
the community school program, all classes necessary for graduation from
the Antelope Valley Union High School District are offered. However,
because of our small size, the number of electives are limited. Most
course work is individualized, programmed, and assigned through student
contracts.
We do have work experience and some ROP
classes available. Students may obtain permission to take community
college classes for elective credit which doubles credit value in the high
school district. Adult Education and independent study classes are
not available. We do have a Title I program, and English Language
Development assistance is available.
Our teachers will assist students
individually and working in small groups to complete assignments found in
our regular district textbooks. If you have been in an opportunity
class, the community day class format will appear familiar.
We will
also try to provide you with enrichment experiences which we hope will
keep you on task and eager to learn.
You will be with us for up to two
semesters, and during that time, we will do our best to prepare you for
your return to the regular program |
