Communications
Our office plays a central role in engaging all stakeholders in two-way communication. The Communications Department works with the Superintendent, AVUHSD staff, the Board of Trustees, and our partners to actively engage students, parents, teachers, and community members.
As the primary hub for the district's internal and external communications, our office serves as the bridge between the school district and the news media. We strive to create a thriving, supportive learning environment for our children, enabling them to realize their full potential and lead fulfilling lives. Our responsibilities include strategic communication planning, community relations, marketing, branding, and advising our district leadership. We also provide support to schools and departments on various issues, such as marketing, outreach, and crisis communication response. Additionally, we oversee the production of districtwide internal and external publications, videography, community relations, media relations, district and school websites, website accessibility compliance, and social media management, among others.
Our office is dedicated to ensuring that our community is fully informed about every aspect of the AVUHSD experience, from the perspectives of our students and staff. We are committed to meeting the needs of every student, and we uphold transparency and integrity as our guiding principles.
