Multi-Tiered System of Support

The Antelope Valley Union High School District is dedicated to providing targeted support to our students through the Multi-Tiered System of Supports framework. Multi-tiered System of Supports, also referred to as MTSS, is a comprehensive approach designed to provide assistance for students based on their individual needs. MTSS focuses on academics, behavior, and social-emotional well-being to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.

MTSS is built around three key components:

1. Academics - Providing high-quality instruction and interventions tailored to each student's academic needs.

2. Behavior - Promoting positive behavior and offering support for those who need it.

3. Social-emotional - Supporting students' social and emotional well-being to foster a safe and inclusive environment.

MTSS is crucial because it ensures that every single student receives the appropriate level of support they need to succeed academically, behaviorally, and emotionally. By addressing issues early on and providing targeted assistance, we help students thrive in all aspects of their school life.

Career Technical Education Pathways

The Antelope Valley Union High School District’s Career Technical Education (CTE) Department is committed to preparing our students for college and careers through our career academies! CTE academies are small learning communities that offer 9th through 12th grade students the opportunity to gain skills required for college and career readiness, all whilst learning in a 21st century environment.

Our academies are a proven approach to education that combines rigorous academics, sequenced technical training, internships, and work-based learning. This approach provides exposure to real-world workplaces and teaches the professional skills needed to thrive in a career. By centering high school around industry themes, learning becomes relevant. Students graduate with the skills and confidence to succeed in college, career and life!

Each of our schools provide a plethora of different Career Technical Education Academies including Digital Design & Engineering, Television & Video, Public Service, Education, and so much more!
