College Readiness and Preparation

College Readiness and Preparation

The Antelope Valley Union High School District offers its students many ways to prepare for college and career including the opportunity to take the PSAT and SAT, Advanced Placement coursework and exams, an International Baccalaureate program, articulated and dual enrollment courses that can provide college credit while still in high school, and Naviance Student, which gives students practical college and career planning tools. Along with these, AVID is a college readiness system that supports and teaches students the study, organizational and social skills necessary for success in high school and college.

Career academy students prepare for college and career through rigorous academic and technical courses, field trips, college campus and industry tours, community service, and industry partner interactions, which may include internships. Our goal for every student is to graduate as creators, innovators, collaborators, communicators, and global and productive citizens.
