The Antelope Valley Union High School District invites the community to attend the 3rd Annual AV STEM Expo, which will take place at Eastside High School in Lancaster on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 8:00am-12:00pm.
The AV STEM Expo is an opportunity for local junior and high school students to showcase their STEM work in a public arena and for community members including local businesses, scientists, educators and parents to see first-hand how our students are making science come alive in the Antelope Valley.
Students are encouraged to develop a project in one of seven categories including Environmental/Agricultural Innovation, Invention, Reverse Engineering, Robotics, Rube Goldberg, Science Fiction, and Scientific Inquiry. After competing at the individual schools, students with the top three entries in each of the seven categories represent their school at the STEM Expo by displaying their project and sharing the science behind what they’ve created.
Community judges from notable organizations including NASA, Lockheed, AFRL and the 42nd Test Wing will determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each category.
We hope to see you there!
