Annual Parent Notifications

Dear Parent/Guardian and Student,

Each year, the Antelope Valley Union High School District shares an important annual notification packet with parents and families.

The packets (last year's samples are attached below) inform you of certain rights, regulations, and responsibilities of students attending public schools. These packets are also available for review here.

When you receive your packet, please follow the steps below:

  • Complete and sign the required Parent Acknowledgement Form (Form #1 below) and return it to your student’s school guidance office.
  • Complete the optional Student Opt Out Form (Student Opt Out Form Release of Pupil Information below) if you want to OPT OUT of your student participating in media visits, the release of student directory information, appearances in video streaming of AVUHSD activities, photos or videos of students being featured on AVUHSD or school site webpage(s), social media pages, links, etc.
  • Complete the optional Cal Grant Opt Out Form (Form #3 below) that allows parents/guardians to OPT OUT of student participation in the Cal Grant Program (due by October 1). If applicable, please sign and return the form to the guidance office.

Please note that this information is not intended as a comprehensive listing of the District’s behavioral expectations and consequences. Specific school policies, rules, regulations, and procedures will be provided to you as a separate document by your school.
